The Art of Racing In The Rain – Garth Stein

I started reading this book, I could not put it down..

The story was captivating from the begining to the end. The journey of Enzo (the dog) his master, his wife and their child, takes you up and down with their journey as seen through Enzo’s eyes. Enzo the dog has this inate sense of how to feel and be human, his thoughts and feelings and perceptions. Even though, he is a dog.

Enzo’s master is a race car driver and through the analogies of race car driving, takes you through his families life, as his career gets on track, his wife’s and daughters lives, trials and sickness, and ensuing legal battles over his daughter with his wife’s in laws. And Enzo wishing through these trials he was human so that he could set the record straight, be able to say what he feels, but is only able to act like a dog.

Throughout the whole entire book. I found myself crying in the middle of the book and right at the end.it was a very touching book, with things in it I can definitely relate to from what has happened in my own life, gave me more perspective in not to give up and keep on trudging and eventually you will be rewarded in the end.

Very poignant and down to earth book, a must read for people that have not read it. I would thoroughly enjoy reading more of his books in the future.

You will be certinaly surprised by the end of the book!!
