When I received the offer for this book, I think I broke the record for replying to it ha ha ! I absolutely love Canadian Living – the magazine, their recipes, their articles, everything.  So when I had the chance to review the book, I thought I should do  one of the  recipes inside the pages.  I have to admit, when I choose to make the Creamy Meatballs and Noodles, I was a bit puzzled about why they added allspice to the meatball ingredients, and am told it is used quite often in this capacity.  So, with an open mind, I made the meatballs, the sauce, the noodles.

My son and I eagerly awaited for the results as it was our dinner one night.  My son loved it! me, well, I did like it, I wasn’t accustomed to allspice in my meat dish.  More so, in my baking than real cooking.  It wasn’t bad, but I am not a fan of it.  So my suggestion to you is if you aren’t a fan either, omit the allspice, and make it  as it tells you to in the recipe.  It will taste terrific either way. So, here is the picture of our dish below.  If you happen to come across the book, definitely go and get it.  I have Canadian  Living Cookbooks, as well as recipes ripped out of their monthly magazine in a binder in my kitchen that I have had for over 20 years.  Yes, that long! I haven’t swayed in my love for them forever it seems like ! Definitely a treat to see what they have in store for you !!
